Zima, or Jima or as I have come to know him, Ziemma, is first seen in Chobits loooking extremely dashing and menacing. After all, he and his companion, Dita, are dressed racily in solid black in a series full of pale colours and cute frothy costumes.

As the story progresses, we learn that Zima is a governmental persocon whose mission is to locate and stop the rogue persocon Chii from activating a program she has stored within her memory. Dita is a persocon who is designed to be Zima's protector, a little spitfire of a computer designed to attack and repel any intruders into Zima. For within Zima is a database that links together and contains the information of every persocon in existence.

Zima is very laidback and mellow, and I think speaks with a kansai-ben accent, though I could be wrong on this. He does end his sentences with na? a lot. Dita is definitely the more aggressive of the pair, and fiercely protective and jealous of anything that messes with Zima. The little persocon also fiercely sticks it's programming and believes that computers are unable to feel emotions. I actually am still at a loss as to what gender Dita is supposed to be, and given CLAMP's love affair with genderless characters, I feel that Dita is supposed to be so, or whatever we want it to be. I personally love the idea of Dita being a little shota boy persocon, but then, I am a pervert. Zima himself is always hinting at being able to do more, to feel, and he constantly hides information from Dita the entire series as to where Chii really is. He knows, and keeps it to himself, because he wants her to activate the program. He wants to see what will happen, and maybe change himself.

And while it is more a relationship thing, Zima is my favourite character in the series, and his relationship with Dita is my OTP. Zima and Dita are the single most physically affectionate couple in all of CLAMP's works. They are always touching each other, Dita often sprawled on Zima's lap. There are almost kisses and blushing, and it makes me squeal.

Zima is quite noble, and I love that about him. He's doing it all for love.
